Who We Are.......

Weeping Willow 2nd Chance German Shepherd Sanctuary, Inc.

We are a no-kill sanctuary for German Shepherds who find themselves in kill shelters or pounds, left abandoned, abused, or whose caregiver is no longer able to provide for them due to illness or death.

We are located on 2-1/2 acres of grassy tree-lined property with a calming pond and Willow Tree greeting them to the Sanctuary, situated in Trumbull County, Lordstown, Oh.

Weeping Willow provides a permanent home and cares for German Shepherds that are not easily adoptable due to their age or handicap. We also provide temporary homes (with the ultimate goal of securing permanent homes) for German Shepherds that are adoptable, but who face euthanasia in a traditional shelter or who have medical problems that preclude them from living in a shelter and being considered unadoptable and thus scheduled for euthanasia.  German Shepherds do not adapt easily to shelter situations.  We will provide temperament testing by knowledgeable German Shepherd instructors along with some basic obedience and "manners".

Public education will be available through public fundraising activities, working with schools and churches to bring public awareness of the temperament of this breed and the love and devotion a senior dog or younger dog can provide to a family.

Don't walk in front of me ~I may not follow.
Don't walk behind me I may not lead.
Walk beside me And just be my friend.
